Dr. Madeline Hamilton is one of the best in her field and works for the CDC so she never knows when the call will come in to take her away to unknown places but this latest case is the most disturbing so far. The president of the United States' own son, along with several of his classmates, have all been affected by a neurological toxin and they're deteriorating fast. It's up to the doctors Madeline has assembled to save the lives of the children of some of the most influential people in the country. Its up to the FBI and Madeline's love Quinn, to find the terrorists responsible for releasing the toxin in the first place. This was my first book by this author and it was quite the medical thriller. I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline and the varied cast of characters. If there was one flaw it would be that sometimes the flow of the story was a little jerky, which would have been helped by a little more description. Overall, though, it was a great story and an interesting medical mystery.

Cassidy's life has been thrust upside down, with a recent break-up , the loss of her job, and the ever present worry about a sister who's been missing for years. Add in the vivid dreams that compel her to paint the faces of strangers and she's a bit of a mess. Without knowing why, she's drawn in by a group of paranormal investigators and soon discovers they are about to start an investigation about the very people she just painted. There are ghosts and witches and Cassidy trying to find a place within the group. This was an interesting book that was pretty fast paced and short so I got through it very quickly. I would have liked there to be more but all the elements were there: mystery, character development, some action. This is a good book if you're looking for a quick read and like paranormal investigations.

I liked this book better than I thought I would. I'm not usually one for stories about maturing teenagers but this one was just nice. Four teenagers (two sets of brother and sister) take a cruise together and end up stranded on a deserted tropical island. One brother-sister combo are the popular, rich kids while the other set are more nerd types and don't have lots of friends. Well the rich kids learn to not be so shallow and the nerds learn more self-confidence and soon enough, romance flies. When you add the strain of trying to survive on an island, you find yourself rooting for everyone as they go along. Elle Casey did an excellent job of making you relate to and care for the characters without losing anything in the plot. A talented author to watch out for!
