by Mary Hughes.

A decent enough book, Night's Kiss followed vampire hunter Kat as she takes down rogue vampires on a quest for vengeance after vampires killed her parents when she was a kid. Bring in ancient vampire Ryker and sparks fly, just not necessarily the ones Kat was expecting.

The story is good, a fairly typical vampire romance so it's a little predictable. I thought both main characters were stubborn loners who eventually overcome their egos to let someone in but are a little annoying until they get there. Some of the characteristics of the vampires are a little different than your run-of-the-mill vampire stories so that at least added a little something different. I'll give it four stars though really 3.5 is probably most accurate in my opinion.

by Catie Murphy.

This is an excellent cozy mystery for a new series by Catie Murphy. It follows limo driver Megan and an eclectic band of characters in Dublin. After a food critic and then a club owner are murdered, Megan sort of accidentally helps the lead investigator with solving the case.

I loved the quirky characters and the attention to the setting, including all the different phrases and expressions common in Dublin. It did a good job of immersing the reader in the culture. The characters were realistic and the plot interesting. Hopefully there will be more to come.
